Kissing The Head If They Do Not Pray
Questioner: Is it permissible to kiss the head of a parent if he (or she) only pray sometimes or do not pray at all?
Shaykh Saalih ibn Fawzaan al-Fawzaan: This is not permissible because this (kissing the head) is from (showing) love (respect), kissing him is from love (respect). So it is not permissible to kiss him. However this does not prevent you from treating him good, (meaning) treating him good with regards to worldly affairs. As for manifesting love (respect) like kissing the head or other than it, it is not permissible. Na’am.
