Why Was Mary Referred to as 'Sister of Aaron' When She Brought the Baby Jesus to Her People?

When Maryam (peace be upon her) delivered Jesus and brought him to her people, they spoke in astonishment, making great this matter and declaring to her that her parents were not impious people. Here is the Qur'anic account:

فَأَتَتْ بِهِ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُ قَالُوا يَا مَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْئًا فَرِيًّا يَا أُخْتَ هَارُونَ مَا كَانَ أَبُوكِ امْرَأَ سَوْءٍ وَمَا كَانَتْ أُمُّكِ بَغِيًّا

Then she brought him (the baby) to her people, carrying him. They said: "O Mary! Indeed you have brought a thing an unheard mighty thing. O sister of Harun (Aaron)! Your father was not a man who used to commit adultery, nor was your mother an unchaste woman."(Maryam 19:27-28)

The question arises here as to why was Maryam (peace be upon her) addressed by her people as "sister of Aaron." The Muslim exegetes have cited two explanations for this:

The Trick of the Eyes

Quran 40:19. Allah knows the fraud of the eyes and what the breasts hide.

Allah knows the fraud of the eyes, and all that the breasts conceal [Quran, Ghâfir (40):19]

It is reported that ‘Abdullâh b. ‘Abbâs – Allâh be pleased with him – said, explaining this verse:

A man is with a group of people when a woman passes. He shows them that he has lowered his gaze from looking at her. But when he sees they are not paying attention, he looks at her. If he fears they will notice, he lowers his gaze, but Allâh has seen in his heart that he wishes he could see her body (private areas).

Hunâd b. Al-Sarî, Al-Zuhd article 1428.

In the Hadith of Jibreel Why Did Jibreel Address the Messenger 'Yaa Muhammad'

In the hadeeth of Jibreel, when Jibreel (alayhis salaam) came and sat in front of the Messenger (alayhis salaam), he said:

يا محمد أخبرني عن الإسلام

So a questioner asked, why did Jibreel address the Messenger (alayhis salaam) in this manner. Does this not constitute disrespect and was it not from the way of the bedouins to speak to him like this?

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen (rahimahullaah) explains in his commentary that the reason for this was to make the Companions believe he was in fact a bedouin who had come to learn about the religion. Hence, he said, "Yaa Muhammad" and did not refer to the Messenger as "Yaa Rasoolullaah" which was the habit and custom of

Guarding Asr and Fajr prayers and seeing Allah - by Sheikh Bin Baz

The following is a summary translation taken from sahab.net

http://www.sahab.net/forums/showthread.php?t=361083

Question:

I want from the Noble Sheikh an answer to this question. The Messenger of Allah ‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎ ‎‎‎‎ said, as has been narrated by the two Sheikhs, ‎Verily you shall see your Lord with your eyes as you are able to see this moon, you will have no difficulty in seeing Him; therefore if you have the ability to be diligent in the prayer before the sun rises and before it sets then do so.

Lowering the Gaze

It is reported that Salmân Al-Fârsî – Allâh be pleased with him – said:

I would rather die and be resurrected, die and be resurrected, and again die and be resurrected than to see the private part of a Muslim’s body or for a Muslim to see mine.

Imâm Ahmad, Al-Zuhd p192. 1st ed. 1983. Dâr Al-Kutub Al-’Ilmîyah. Beirut, Lebanon.

It is reported that ‘Abdullâh b, ‘Umar – Allâh have mercy on him – said:

Verily, part of disregarding the trust upon you is to look inside [other people's] apartments and houses.

Duff and nasheeds on Eid

Shaykh Saalih bin Fawzaan Al Fawzaan
http://www.sahab.net/forums/showthread.php?t=371711

Question:
Respected Shaykh, may Allah give you success: on the days following Eid, some people organize gatherings for women where the simple hand drum (al-duff) is used and there is dancing and singing. [The women] say these are the days of Eid and it is allowed to use al-duff, dance and sing without using [other] musical instruments; how correct is this?

Answer:

Brother, the day of Eid is one day, not a number of days. The days of Eid Al-Ad-ha and Eid Al-Fitr are a one day for each. The Days of Tashriq that follow the day of Eid Al-Ad-ha are not days of Eid, they are not called Days of Eid; these are the Days of Tashriq. These people [being asked about] want to revive drums, musical instruments and singing, they call them the Days of Eid. This is a lie about the Shariah; this behaviour is not allowed not for men and not for women.
